Ângelo Correia
Ângelo Correia from Portugal has a B.A. in Foreign Languages, English and Spanish, from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB). He made his first move into the translation industry when he translated the IPBike project for IPB. This was followed by an internship in Sant Cugat, Barcelona with QuickSilver Translate for his M.A. in Translation. As a freelancer, he developed his knowledge of CAT tools and worked on a wide variety of projects. A native Portuguese speaker, also fluent in Spanish and English, Ângelo continues to be passionate about languages. Besides that, he’s also very passionate about football, music, cinema, coffee and traveling.
Lena Tahmassian
Originally from the United States, Lena was raised in Arizona, lived several years in California and a few in the Carolinas before coming to Barcelona. She holds a Ph.D. in Iberian Studies from Stanford University and did her B.A. in Spanish at Arizona State University. She is trained in both foreign language pedagogy, as well as in academic research. Aside from translation, she has worked as a university professor researching and publishing, designing and teaching cultural studies courses, and directing theses. Lena is a native speaker of English and Armenian, as well as speaking Spanish and Catalan. She is a fan of music, cinema, eating, coastal areas, and wandering the city by foot or by bike.
Nuria Romero Hill
Nuria is a native speaker of Spanish and Catalan. She holds a degree in English Studies from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in her hometown, Tarragona. She then obtained a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning English as a Foreign/Second Language. After working for several months teaching English, she decided to shift direction and decided to move to Barcelona and study another master’s degree, this time in Translation and Intercultural Studies at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. There, she discovered her new passion and motivation to dive into the world of translation. She has taken multiple translation-related courses to improve her skills, and has translated science-fiction/fantasy books (her favourite genre). She lived in York, England for a few months (which she misses terribly), and loves reading books, watching films and TV shows, and gaming.
