Quality in Translation
How do you define the concept of quality in translation? The word ‘quality’ is used by everyone in the world of translation, all clients want it, and all translation suppliers offer it. And yet translation buyers are sometimes disappointed with what they get from suppliers, a clear indication that ‘quality’ means different things to different people.
The problem for buyers is that it’s difficult to know whether the supplier was not good enough, or whether they didn’t do a good enough job of clearly outlining their expectations.
This is an example of how we define the different levels of quality we offer. The example is a short paragraph of text translated from Spanish into English.
